Fantasy Faire 2024 events, including two new Avatar Dining Club stories

Fantasy Faire 2024, one of the biggest events in the Second Life calendar, opens its 20 regions today (Thursday 18 April). The 17 day annual event has so far raised over US$750,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. In fact, last year’s Faire ranked in the top 15 out of 40,000 Relay For Life Teams worldwide in terms of money-raised.

I will be taking part in two FF events this year. First, on Saturday 20 April at 3pm SLT, as part of the Faire’s annual Literary Festival, I’ll be premiering not one but two new Avatar Dining Club stories in a live voice reading at Samsara, the LitFest region. I won’t be releasing these stories on the blog/podcast for several weeks, so this is an exclusive opportunity to hear them well before online publication. The stories are The Hidden Snow Globe and The Metaverse Detective and will be read at the Temple Theatre (pictured in the header above).

Second, I have been cast as one of the characters in this year’s Fairelands Quest: The Seven Layers of Joy, written by Aisling Sinclair. I play Theo, a snow leopard and this year’s companion in the Quest. I recorded my lines for this a few weeks back and am very excited to experience the final product.

Hope to see you in the Fairelands!
