Born-again bachelor

Snapshot_089a

Born-again bachelor,
quite the surprise;
his new boots and waistcoat
a labelled disguise.
He gives his account
of a decade of lies;
a one year old script;
a one year old script in its hundredth reprise.

Born-again bachelor,
free as a bird.
Single and working,
(so get out the word).
He followed her car:
to a Ford she transferred.
She was bored and frustrated;
she was bored and frustrated, he says he’s since heard.

Born-again bachelor,
he has a new place.
He’s bought a new bed –
king sized, just in case.
She confessed to huge bills
for her clothes, hair and face.
They sold off the house;
they sold off the house, now she’s renting someplace.

Born-again bachelor,
quite the surprise;
with his brand new red car
he will now socialise.
His son will not call him.
He pauses and sighs.
Born-again bachelor,
born-again bachelor, with tears in his eyes.
